Your reporting and analysis on the Catholic Church and the Pope helps me cope with all the ugliness and sickness of this time. Pope Leo gives me hope too as a counterweight to Trumpism. I wish you the best this year!
A beautiful and powerful post. I have enjoyed your work as a free subscriber for several months - it has been helping me reconnect with my faith for the first time in many many years. Just upgraded to paid for 2026 ❤️ Thank you for all you do!
I agree. I too have been reconnecting ever since Pope Leo came and this post is just giving me so much more. I am so happy with what is happening and it is such an antidote to the poison that is being constantly sprayed on us.
I am not Catholic, though I realky do believe this moment this Pope have the potential to be a new beginning. It will take real leadership, to claw back from the darkness and provide that hope that the world needs.
Thank you for what you are doing. It is obvious that this post was from your heart and your faith. The cynicism of this time can only be punctured by people who are willing to set said cynicism aside and come to the table in the faith that we are all better this.
I don't know how this will end. No one does. The best we can do is to "summon our better angels" no matter how much others insist on pushing the agenda of hate.
“To paraphrase Peter: I bring neither silver nor gold to this project. I bring the greatest gifts I’ve received — my back, my mind, my heart, and my faith. I offer them in the belief that you and I were made for this moment — to be repairers of the breach.”
You have our attention. You have our prayers.
We are all of us blessed with grace. We are all of us blessed with faith.
The size of what happens here is irrelevant. The apostolic college was only 12.
You have our trust, our good will, and our companionship.
Use those gifts well, in the name of Christ.
Use those gifts wisely.
Maybe we all of us be lifted up on eagles’ wings, where the prophet Isaiah saw the strength of the Holy One poured out on all of us .
I look forward to reading your reports because your love for the Catholic Church is clear as is your love for our country. I love the Catholic Church too. I feel empty when I can’t go to Mass during the week. I know Pope Francis had Cardinal Prevost in mind for his successor. Pope Leo is full of the Holy Spirit and will bring our nation around.
My faith has grown stronger since you began this journey with us. Both you and Pope Leo will continue to be in my prayers. May all people hear Pope Leo’s moral clarity and believe the country can change. Happy New Year, Christopher. Blessings to you! 🙏
Keep up this wonderful work. Thank you 🙏. I too love this Catholic Church and the United States 🇺🇸. We can’t let this country be taken over by a fascist 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Along with Bernard, best wishes from Florida- Orlando.
We are a so- called " politically red" State but there are thousands and thousands of Floridians of all stripes daily practicing the kindness the Pope is preaching as the only antidote to the base cruelty of our current administration, not to mention the outright murder and genocides being wrought around our world. This is the grass roots of the "disarming" the Pope continually calls for!
Thank you for your diligent commitment to this truly providential and historical intersection of events and leaders. It is indeed a calling. You are admirably responding to the benefit of us all.
Well, Carolyn, how about President Trump standing up for Nigerian Christians - both Catholic and Protestant - who are being genocided by Islamic Muslims daily. Has Leo said a word on this? Nigerian Christians are totally disarmed but the Islamic hordes have a vast supply of weapons.
I know Pope Leo loves our beloved country so much. So do I. I love God, Jesus, and Virgin Mary. I do believe in God. Pope Leo makes me very comfortable cause he stands up and believes. I know Pope Leo stands up to the current President. He reminds me of Pope John Paul II who fought against the communist governments. Pope Leo isn’t afraid of the current President. Me, neither. Pope Leo cares about immigrants, the poor people, and general issues. I like that way he is doing as Pope. Pope Francis cared about the poor people so much. Same here with Pope Leo. But he is very passionate about the immigrants. That is why he stands up to the current President. He will fight what he believes. I have a strong faith in Pope Leo. We share our common cause we love our beloved country so much.
I am leaning toward getting a subscription. I will pray about it. I love the Church as well, as a voluntarily laicized priest who even today serves the dying each day. Your work is excellent and your timing is impeccable. I’ve always said about my own work that even if no one reads it, it doesn’t matter because I write for myself, and also to note for the record. But with you, your light is more expansive, educative, and I pray it will continue to grow. I leave you with something from my very first art. written on day Trump in his first term took that pic in front of DC Church, 6.1.20:
“Or could it be that some bishops like so many ordinary Catholics like what they see in Trump and see no evil which they cannot or will not name. Maybe they see it but still stay silent? What if their tight grip on the product Trump provides them leads to division and calumny? What if it leads to an American KIA and his parents being dishonored? What if it leads to racist rhetoric and values? What if it leads to attacks against the character of honorable men and women? What if it leads to civil servants being attacked for doing their jobs and upholding their oath to the Constitution? What if it means subverting the rule of law, or attacking those who uphold it? What if it leads to largely peaceful protesters being tear gassed for the sake of a dishonorable presidential pic, one guilty of exploiting of all things a bible and a house of worship? What if it leads to the an assault on truth and leaves in its path a trail of tears?”

All the best to you from Dunedin, Florida. Our hope is that you will have continued success in 2026.
Bless you, Our Lord knows the love you bring to the world

Go fuck yourself, you Masonic fake.
Always reassured when the election of the Pope seems to come out of left field.
The Holy Spirit is awesome. I’m glad the Cardinals listened!
