These past pontiffs understood that offering basic courtesy to people of other faiths does not mean denying Christ; rather, it reflects Christ’s own command to love our neighbors.

Why does anyone care what she says about the pope or Catholicism?

I see this accommodation as thoughtful and courteous. The need must have made itself evident.

Islamic religious practice includes praying five times daily. Having a venue for prayer, provided in the library for scholars studying there, is a great gesture.

Pope Leo XIV is simply showing the respect and courtesy that we have come to like in our great leaders. Would that the lesser lites could open their hearts to accept that everyone is a child of God!

As a Protestant clergyman and Church historian, I am shocked, but hardly surprised by MAGA 's bigotry in criticizing Pope Leo's gracious extension of hospitality to Muslim scholars using the resources of the Vatican Library. Pope Leo's action is a giant step toward better interfaith respect and understanding.

The Rector and Vestry of the PEC I attend when not officiating elsewhere have made similar overatures to Muslims in our community, with excellent results .

How can MAGAs claim to be Christians, when the bulk of them are so bigoted as to claim even other Christians in their own country are not really faithful if they worship or pray differently, or extend a charitable hand to the stranger, the refugee, and the needy.

So I close as I began with 100 % support of blessed Pope Leo!! 😇😇😇

MAGA ignores that Islam at its core is as peaceful as Christianity. It's extremists that make both of them dangerous.

Before Loomer opens her mouth she needs to think. The last I heard we will be having Qatari personnel and with their F-15 fighter jets training on American soil in Idaho. They are Muslims of the Islam religion and no doubt they will need a prayer room.

Yeah magat’s don’t understand that Christians, Muslins and Jews ALL worship the God of Abraham as the one true God. It’s the profits that got in the way IMHO.

Being respectful to the Muslim religion is important in today's current divisive climate & it is the correct Christian approach.

I never thought I would like the new Pope since I had so much respect and admiration for Pope Francis. But this new Pope, Pope Leo is taking those wonderful actions and moving forward with them! He is a man who loves all people and understands the needs of everyone!! Thank you Pope Leo for caring for all people.

“Pope St. John Paul II — certainly no one’s idea of a “woke Marxist” — believed in showing esteem for Islam. In 1999, John Paul II famously kissed a Quran as a gesture of goodwill and respect. (If a saintly, staunch anti-communist pope could do that, maybe welcoming a quiet prayer space isn’t so radical after all.)”

Let all — all — please take serious note.

As for Raymond Arroyo, he should deal with it, or leave the Catholic Church. His association with Fox News is despicable.
