Thank you sisters! I’m sorry we don’t have more women in the church, we’d be far better for it!

Could you clarify what you mean by "more women in the Church?" By definition, any baptised Catholic woman is "in the church" as in is a member of Christ's Body the Church and is equal in dignity to any man because she is made in the image and likeness of God.

Notice, as soon as religious leaders in got the King James version Catholisim. They used the church to punish a woman because of the evil apple eater. Therefore it is a church doctrine woman are less than a man. Woman must bear the weight of their ancestry. No we are all equal in the eyes of God and critical thinkers

The King James Bible is from the Church of England. It is not a Roman Catholic Bible. Like the Luther book of scriptures, seven books have been removed. Christ was born of a woman, Mary, conceived without sin. Women are equal. It is the brokenness of humanity that twists the truths of God.

If you can provide a church document that the Church declares women are less than a man then I can believe your statement. I doubt you can, because the Catholic Church has for 2000 years upheld the dignity of women.

Agreed, woman is not less than man.

The original Christian Church was one, holy, catholic (= universal, always little 'c') and apostolic. The Roman Catholic Church (big 'C') became the official Church of the West after the Great Schism of 1054. In the preceding 1000 years, the Christian Church was one, with Eastern and Western rites. The earliest Christian Churches were based in Jerusalem. The Orthodox Christian Church remains unchanged from the time of Christ. Every other Christian denomination is borne from the original Orthodox Church - the Roman Catholic Church happens to be the first to break from the original.

Church history is fascinating, and careful delving provides wonderful insights into the Christian faith 🙏🏼

Thank you wonderful Sisters of Charity, for the discernment. We need to keep remembering that the Gospel is asking us to LOVE God and our neighbors. What is saintly is continual spiritual growth in loving more deeply.

Dolan should have been excommunicated long ago. He's another Fr Coughlin.

Dolan is an asshole, but entitled to his personal opinion. However as an official of the Church, he should be made to resign and then be excommunicated. He could influence too many gullible people.

I must ask, do you know what is excommunication? I think people throw that word and punishment very easily that they don't actually know what is means.

Catholic Sisters have an established leadership platform in the church, and in the world, precisely because they have committed their lives to Gospel-based discipleship. It is because of their day in and day out actions for others that their words have ground and heft!! But I do agree with Peggy Camp that all of us who profess to be Catholics have to have our radar out in these times and be willing to give prophetic voice when necessary.

There was only one St. Paul.

So good to hear, but all Catholics should be admonishing Cardinal Dolan’s St Paul comparison!

I never heard of this man I am happy to say. I don't understand how someone is promotes such hate is has been allowed to stay in the church this long. I know he is retiring soon but before that happens I would like to see Pope Leo exile him a remove whatever benefits a retired priest might receive.

The nuns are the best. In our community we have the Franciscan Order. They are very active in our area. They are working on stopping trafficking of children.

Thank you Sisters of Charity! Cardinal Dolan is so wrong; sadly, he is in a position to influence others. Thank the Lord he is retiring. Going forward, he needs to spend time reflecting on the true gospel, which includes the empathy and love that the Cardinal seems to lack.

The repudiation of those ugly remarks by the Cardinal brings me great joy. Thank you to the Sisters and all who stand up for Jesus’ call to love and St Paul’s bold witness to bear the truth of the Gospel to the world!
