Accepting the Liberty Medal from the Vatican, the first American pope said immigrants made his country “a byword for freedom” — the Bernardin ethic, womb to tomb, aimed at Trump’s Washington. Tomorrow he lands among the migrants of Lampedusa.
Thank you forever Pope Leo...and thank you Christopher for doing an excellent job keeping us informed via Letters from Leo. Celebrate your time in Rome!
This is a hard Fourth of July, made even harder by commemoration of the 250th year since our country's founding. It is hard to celebrate when innocent immigrants/refugees are being rounded up, detained in concentration camps without due process and deported back to countries they fled for their lives. Pope Leo has become a voice in the wilderness for so many people of faith and goodwill. He is most deserving of this award.
Thank you, Papa Leo. May God bless....

Let him who has eyes see, let her who has ears hear. Shame on us if we do not.
Thank you and blessings Christopher Hale. I cannot imagine a better message on the 250th anniversary of the USA than Pope Leo's address.

My Pope. No greater example of God’s dream of a disciple.
I watched the ceremony on Live stream this morning - it was inspirational!!!
Congratulations Pope Leo for receiving the 38th Liberty Medal from the National Constitution Center🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
