Bishop Flores would remove the clericalism that Dolan brought with him. Bishop Flores has roots in Texas and understands the immigration issue. He’s also against the death penalty.

Wow! I hope you got the name of the person that said that to you. I’ve never had anyone in any of the congressmen’s office talk to me in such a way. It tells you everything about Susan Collins. She must go. She is truly an abomination, just like Trump. What in the world has happened to these people?

Cardinal Dolan's statements about Kirk are an embarrassment to the Catholic Church Pope Leo can't get rid of him fast enough.

I saw that and all I could think of was catholic clergy who went along with Hitler. So gross. I thought when we got Pope Leo , I thought God meant it to happen to prevent Our country from going fascist . BUT I am loosing hope. Kirk’s killing came at the right time for Trump to take his voters of his other problems and demonize the left. I called up my Senator Susan Collins to ask that people keep the tone down. The woman answering the phone said “the left killed Kirk. When I said what about all the kids killed by white supremacist and she said” end of conversation “ and hung up. I am still shocked.

I am appalled actually that Collins would have someone like that working in her office and answering calls.

I am too. When I have called before for other things they have always said they don’t give their opinion. I am afraid to call that office back.

Just as well Pope Leo should remove Dolan just as Pope Francis removed Strickland from Texas for protesting the Pontiff’s reforms.

Either you’re with us

Or against us

Kirk, was no martyr

He bore false witness.

Cardinal Dolan’s comments were quite shocking. Normally, he is much more judicious in his choice of words, this comes as a complete surprise to me. A St. Paul comparison — what?! One of the reasons he was placed in New York, and later made a cardinal, was his more diplomatic approach. To quote the great Vatican news reporter, John Allen, Jr., Dolan was favored because he reflected the pope’s pattern of “choosing prelates who are basically conservative in both their politics and their theology, but also upbeat, pastoral figures given to dialogue."

I can’t believe Dolan read or heard any of Kirk’s comments — I wonder if he was very badly briefed. You don’t get to chair the board of Catholic Relief Services or head the USCCB without knowing how to handle divisive matters, and this was definitely one of those. I have seen him on TV handle very tense meetings between opponents without a miscue, this would indicate it is time for his retirement.

I do hope while Dolan was on Fox & Friends that he at least asked why Brian Kilmeade could keep his job when he advocated for the exact equivalent of Aktion T4, the involuntary euthanasia program used by Nazi Germany against the disabled and mentally ill that took the lives of between 275,000 to 300,000 victims.

I’m not sure the Pope and the Catholic Hierarchy is Catholic anymore. Sadly, Marxism flourishes in lieu of Catholic Doctrine and the good old fashioned Ten Commandments. I am a Roman Catholic and I am ashamed of Pope Francis and I’m not encouraged at all by Pope Leo. We know Communists infiltrated the seminaries years ago. The darkness is overcoming the light! The Vatican needs an exorcism and it needs it now! We have eyes to see and ears to hear. We do not like what we see and hear because it does not match up with The Catholic Church. We have seen the fruits the synods and they are not Catholic. And, the Jubilee of Hope with a symbol which closely resembles the pride flag. Pray the Rosary, go to Confession and try to find reverent Masses with Pastors who teach The Truth! (Because Truth is a Person, The Second Person of the Holy Trinity, Jesus Christ.)

When Dolan came to NY years ago he was a refreshing change from acerbic Egan. But after Francis was elected, Dolan was notably more right leaning and strangely silent when Francis was being attacked by the Catholic rightwing here.

Dolan never regained a sensible footing and his Kirk = St Paul’s comment on Fox is a devastating way to depart from his position.
