I would petition the Holy Father to place the USA under interdict at a certain point if we cannot stop contemptuously violating the core tenets of Christianity.
How about if we start with baby steps regarding the interdict? Maybe we can request those individuals holding elected office in the upper echelons of the current administration be placed under interdict.
Hello Steve, are you aware that you can write to the Holy father yourself?.
Send him a letter address, I pray that he will respond to you. I say that because being the head of the world’s largest Roman Catholic Church.. . The the Pontiff is busy, but not so busy that he cannot answer your letter.. . Who knows you may even be granted an audience with the pope. . It has happened in the past because what happens to us.,
Thank you, Maria. Such an audacious request would need to be timely and compelling. Such an action would need to persuade non-Catholic American Christians who are motivated by core tenets of the faith.
Thank you. 🙏 Too many self professed Christians enjoy the outward performances without doing the real work or so it seems to me. The article about Hegseth terrifies me. I honestly don’t understand how he can proclaim to love 🇺🇸 when he so obviously wants to change a chief tenet of it —namely, the separation of church and state. Any student who learned 🇺🇸 history in school knows that the original folks who came here from England were seeking a place to practice their religion without retribution from the King, and the separation of church and state is foundational to the founders.
Looks like Pope Leo just said what a lot of pew-sitters hope nobody notices: the Gospel doesn’t clock out when the final hymn ends. If your communion bread turns stale before Monday morning, you’re not following Jesus, you’re playing dress-up. Holiness isn’t a weekend gig — it’s how you tip your waitress, answer your emails, and treat the people who can’t do a thing for you.
Huh? It’s OK to accurately characterize worldly, material behavior as vicious (e.g. cruel, spiteful, malicious…). Jesus taught that we should not take it upon ourselves to judge others from the divine viewpoint of all eternity - leave that to G*d. But there’s no problem saying that someone is behaving cruelly, and no problem with opposing that behavior on the grounds that it harms those with less power to defend themselves.

You need to remember the United States is not a Catholic country.
It is a country of Catholics, though. Interdicts have been placed on geographic locations.

Happens to all of God’s children .🙏

May softer remedies prevail.
I most certainly will do that.

I go to mass Tuesdays and Thursdays in addition to Sundays. Granted I’m retired so have the freedom to do that. It makes me feel closer to God.
No more important command was ever implied.
Bless us all on our own individual path♥️♥️♥️
🙏🏽🙏🏼🌈❤️

He seem not okay
No need to trash Pete Hegseth. That was definitely un-Christian.

Just like when Jesus smarted off to Satan on the mountain. Very un — Christian.
