With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, if Pope Leo feels that he would be of help and healing, then he must do what he is guided to do. I would not presume to tell him what to do. His Wi-Fi connection is far closer to God than mine.

All I can say is that the love of God is most needed in Gaza. What is going on there is horrific and must stop.

This is so important, and its something I didn't mention. So much of what I am seeing from people in Gaza is a feeling of being abandoned, forgotten, and a rising sense of hopelessness. The message this would send to those suffering would have an impact that could never be measured.

Hi Christopher. I sent you a private message. I think the second visit needs to be to Alligator Alcatraz in South Florida. These camps need to be stopped, before they expand. Private prison companies are securing mulit-million dollar contracts, to incarcerate human without any guarantee of due process. U.S. Citizens are also being swept up due to "quotas" for deputized persons with no criminal justice training at all.

I agree with you Mary. Who would have thought that America's most feared and deadly gang, the ICE Brigade, would be headed up by the felonious child rapist, currently known as the President of the United States of America!? Outrageous and it's only going to get worse! Denomic Führer tRump has plans to use the insurance money he stole from American citizens to open more concentration camps and send his shameful Gestapo ICE henchmen into many more communities across our country. Our neighborhoods could be next. These illegal goons hide their faces, don't wear uniforms, don't carry badges, don't have warrants and they drive unmarked cars. They invade public places like schools, restaurants, shopping centers and parks with playgrounds. They brutalize immigrants and citizens in front of our children! Kidnap students from our school. They physically assault and remove elders from homes and businesses that they own. They hunt down our farm workers, leaving our food to rot in the fields and then our grocery prices rise.

They capture humans and they disappear without due process. All of this evil is illegal according to our laws and constitution. El Führer has no respect for our constitution or our judicial system. He disregards the law and threatens our judges. The demonic Dick Traitor in the White House protects his illegal henchmen.

Sadly we have a long history of evil white supremacist infiltrating our police departments. We all know that they often get away with brutalizing black people. But now police have been caught on camera beating peaceful white protesters. Some officers, I hope, are still following the laws written when we used to have a democracy. You would think they would have the authority to be arresting these masked cowards invading peaceful communities all over the country. Honorable law abiding Police Officers should unite against fascism and protect us all from these criminal monstrous ICE gangsters. Arrests unidentified ICE thugs. Do your job. Don't be a tRump. Be kind. Be heroes!

It's going to take ALL of us to bring down the tRump regime and billionaire oligarchs, who own and rule them. The oligarchs already get rich hogging the money you earn. Now that the Brutal Bullshit Bill has passed they will make more money than by ending human services. Thereby, eliminating the old, the weak, the sick and the poor through needless suffering until death. Then by privatizing health insurance, drug companies and health care only for those who can afford to pay. Choose love over hate and join the Anti-tRump Resistance.

If Pope Leo steps foot in Gaza, the halo-polishers in Rome will lose their minds. Which is exactly why he should go.

A pope in Gaza is not a press release. It’s not diplomacy. It’s not even politics. It’s sacrament with sandals on. A broken body showing up in a broken place, saying, “I’m not afraid to bleed with you.”

But that scares people. Because once you stop blessing power and start blessing pain, everything shifts. Suddenly the incense stops rising toward empires and starts settling into the rubble where children play near cratered schools.

Francis redefined the papacy by going where the script said “stay home.” Leo could do the same. No selfies. No headlines. Just presence.

And presence, in a world addicted to spectacle, is still the most radical thing you can bring.

Leo should go and take all the aid trucks sitting at the border in with him. Bring loaves and fishes to all.

I believe Pope Leo would bring healing to Gaza, but I worry about his safety. His mission is a threat to the Israeli government who is perpetrating genocide in Gaza and to the current American regime that supports genocide and is working on ethnic cleansing in the U.S. Yes, I am worried about the safety of Pope Leo.

Sorry I hit send by mistake- the joys of living with a neurological disability. I was saying ….

I think that Pope Leo should visit Gaza, the West Bank and Tel Aviv. You are quite right his presence would sent a strong message that the genocide that’s going on there needs to stop and that peace needs to happen. As a religious leader who is versed in global politics and who has the skills to show the need for peace Pope Leo’s visit would be a strong physical presence that could bring peace to Gaza. 🙏🏻

Thank you for writing this. Witness is definitely needed in Gaza—witness to the truth of their suffering; witness to solidarity with the suffering instead of with those who continue to inflict the unimaginable.

Pope Leo should definitely go to Gaza. But he shouldn’t go alone. I should volunteer as a Catholic to go with him, as part of a flotilla of aid or whatever, as a human shield. Can’t think of a better use for my 76 year old, still usable body. I am already part of the Body. Let’s go.

Or even without Pope Leo. Why endanger his voice and leadership? A Catholic Aid for Gaza flotilla, a big one. Thousands of people are needed. A parallel effort to the Pope’s official visits.

I do not believe Pope Leo should go to Gaza. Netanyahu cannot be trusted to insure the Pope’s safety. God sent him as a gift of love and peace to the world not a martyr. It’s not an overstatement to say it is a sin to squander this gift. The good shepherd will lead Leo on his journey not the sheep.

I have serious reservations about Pope Leo going to Gaza or the West Bank:

1. Can we count on Mr. Netanyahu to declare and enforce a cease fire in Gaza and protect Pope Leo? This is the man who has denied the dire stage 5 starvation and all the horrors preceding this in Gaza. Would he find it “regrettable “ but still convenient to arrange an assassination and blame it on Hamas?

2. Would the Pope’s visit to Gaza threaten Mr. Netanyahu’s ability to prolong the genocide in Gaza in order to stay in office and avoid prosecution by the Israeli courts?

3. I do believe that having Pope Leo as a powerful and respected witness to the horror Mr. Netanyahu has rained on the Palestinians, healthcare workers, volunteers and the infrastructure of Gaza would force the world to act swiftly- first to address the starvation, medical and basic needs of the people.

4. Pope Leo’s witnessing of the unimaginable physical suffering in Gaza right now and the cumulative destruction of residences, businesses, hospitals, and infrastructure throughout all areas of Gaza could quickly silence Mr. Netanyahu’s unsubstantiated insistence that Hamas is the culprit in the destruction of Gaza and the assassination of over 1,000 starving people who have been desperately attempting to get food.

I’m sure there are numerous other factors, both pro and con, related to the Pope undertaking such a mission. I’m also sure there are people in the Vatican and worldwide who are far better informed regarding the real and potential risks to the Pope’s safety and the potential benefits to the Palestinian people of a visit to Gaza.

My selfish wish is that Pope Leo could safely travel to and around Gaza, minister to a people who have been so brutalized, and bear witness regarding the reported brutalization to the world, speaking for those who can no longer speak for themselves.

Pope Leo may be able to facilitate the release of the the crew and volunteers of the small aid boat, Handala, that was seized today (7/28/25) and boarded by Israeli occupation forces or forces complicit with Israel’s reported genocide of Palestinian citizens. To my knowledge, the following people were removed by these forces and their whereabouts is unknown:

1. Frank Joseph Romano

2. Chris Smalls

3. Emma Fourreau

4. Robert Suberi

I believe Pope Leo’s presence in Gaza would offer some semblance of hope to those trapped there and be a catalyst for the rapid mobilization of aid from established NGO’s around the world.

I trust Pope Leo’s judgment and know he will make his decision based on all information and guidance available to him - both earthly and Spiritually.

I will remember him in my prayers. God Bless All.
