Pope Leo, can you add aid to the people in Sudan who are eating grass and dirt per Catholic Charities. And Syria which is committing genocide against the Alawites.

Glad he did not roll out a red carpet. This picture is great. His face shows that he is dead serious.

It is long past time for Netanyahu to stop....this went from retaliation to genocide!

This meeting is a good sign that this Pope and Vatican will hold the moral high ground.

What do you think would happen if he had a meeting with our President?

Vance is supposedly a Catholic.

Vance never went through RICA/OCIA. A bishop had a separate class for him. His behavior makes me wonder what he learned from the bishop.

Ugh! When "rebuffed", aka their false framing of The Vatican as a supplicant was corrected, did "Israel" pivot to insinuating that Pope Francis had asked them for a meeting, something that he can't dispute because he's dead?

I don’t know what the government hierarchy of Israel is. The Pope met with the president of Israel but it seems to me the prime minister, Netanyahu, makes all the decisions. I hope Pope Leo got through to him. According to something I read in Democracy Now the Washington Post is saying the U.S. will be charge of Gaza. I don’t like that. We are not colonialists!

The look of disgust on Pope Leo’s face says it all…..to not throat punch that genocidal maniac is a testament to the Pope’s self control

Where is your evidence for your take on Leo’s approach? Is there a transcript of their meeting? If not what do you base yours on? I think it was a colossal mistake to grant Herzog an audience in the midst of an ongoing genocide. Anything they can be said behind closed doors should be said publicly.
