Unfortunately I doubt Netanyahu cares what the pope or most other people think. He’ll continue the bombing as long as the US gives unqualified support via arms and other aid. This country aids and abets a monster.

True story. Netanyahu wants to stay out of prison and the US policy of providing him with weapons to slaughter civilians is accomplishing that. 😡😢😞☹️

That's been true since the beginning. The war in Gaza continues for one reason: the US supplies armourments.

Let us not forget that Netanyahu was facing serious legal issues just before this started. By keeping it going , I think he hopes that he can keep the legal beagles at bay.

Ceasefire is a beginning. He needs to call for an end to occupation which every year has been osloizing (process of increasing settlements under the UN mask of a two state solution) slaughter to see with how much they can get away.

When two popes call you out in one season, it's not persecution—it's prophecy.

Netanyahu’s war machine just shelled Gaza’s last Catholic church, and still had the audacity to say oops. Meanwhile, Pope Leo didn’t reach for diplomacy—he reached for the Gospel whip. And rightly so.

This isn’t just politics. It’s desecration. The Holy Family Parish was shelter, sanctuary, sacred space. Now it’s rubble. And the Vatican has had enough.

When a pope tells you, “Stop this slaughter,” and you ignore him, it’s not just bad PR—it’s spiritual malpractice.

Netanyahu, take note: when the shepherds start shouting, it means the wolves have overplayed their hand.

My understanding is that the U.S. supplies Israel, primarily (but not exclusively) with defensive weapons. Maybe it’s time to start rerouting these weapons to Ukraine, whom Mr. Trump has essentially left to twist in the wind.

This would greatly benefit Ukraine who continues to valiantly defend itself with whatever the world can scrape together for them and with the breadcrumbs Mr. Trump begrudgingly releases to them.

Gradually shifting Israel's “iron dome” to Ukraine may provide an incentive for Netanyahu to stop attacking and to get out of Gaza.

Both Netanyahu and Putin have been and continue to blatantly and very publicly play Mr. Trump for a fool.

Pope Leo ♌️ is doing his best to help this war, come to an end in a diplomatic solution. I doubt the prime minister will listen at all.

This is simply not good enough, Leo had to wait until a Catholic church was bombed to speak out. As a Catholic I wonder how far we have strayed from the teachings Jesus, why politics can influence our morality. The Catholic church is not the buildings, not the Vatican or the wealth. The Catholic church is the people, those who obey the 10 commandments everyday, those who know in their very being that the only things worth having in life are free,... love, health, the power to create, your internal guidance, all these are free. What the Israelis, their supporters fail to understand is that violence begets violence, greed is insatiable, criminality is not a sustainable future and our soul is eternal. I do not care what religion anyone practices, what belief system anyone else has, mine is unshakeable, no God approves of the killing in Palestine.

I know of many many Catholic people who support trump and his regime. If you want us to believe that the Catholic Church is its people, then it's people need to act Christ like. I am a recovering Catholic and I will never understand how the Catholic Church in America is filled with such hippocrits, pedophile priests, and corrupt parishioners. The Catholic Church and most churches for that matter are simply big (tax exempt) business.

That’s a bigoted and wildly inaccurate claim. Trump supporters include evangelical Protestants, libertarians, white working-class voters, nationalists, business owners, and yes, some Roman Catholics — but also atheists, agnostics, and a wide political spectrum. Blaming one religious group is not only prejudiced, it completely ignores the complexity of American politics.

Equally, a full and diverse range of people voted for Joe Biden — the so-called 'Genocide Joe' — including millions of liberal Christians, secular progressives, Black voters, suburban moderates, and corporate centrists. No one group put either of them in power. If we want to talk honestly about why these men got elected, we need to examine power structures, media manipulation, voter disillusionment, and corporate influence — not lazily scapegoat an entire religion. That kind of thinking belongs in the dustbin of history.

You are a bigot, you think you can lecture me on religion, the USA has supplied the money and the armouments to kill kill kill kill and kill again in Afgsnistsn, in Syria. In Iraq on Iran in Yemen, in Pakistan. In Congo, in Sierra Leone, in Palestine. The world does not revolve around you and your issues, other people matter you have a judicial system, support system, you have womens groups. How can you not see your society is immoral, how can you who claims to have been a Catholic not know that evil forces are everywhere, but that if you are a Catholic you have a fundamental set of rules to live by, that does not mean that satan does not enter, that does not mean that paedophilia is not a issue everywhere. Did you take a poll to see hie many on the epstein list were Catholic? We all have our crosses to carry. I have no sympathy for you because you are using your suffering to beat other people with. Why don't you try using it to change your society. Don't talk to me about Trump, Biden got the name genocide Joe from the clear blue sky? And Obama bombed 7 countries without provocation killing civilians testing out his drones. POLITICIANS ARE ALL THE SAME.

He has called for a ceasefire and food aid to be let through. It is not enough, leaders need to shout louder, he could beg the usa to stop sending the means for all this savagery he could ask the Italians to stop sending weapons parts. Ditto to all the other weapons suppliers. It is not only him. All spiritual leaders need to be more forceful. How long can we watch this satanism.?

We have to hope that the Pope can inspire millions of people worldwide to petition their own governments to intervene, especially my own, the US. We have to believe that Collective action will get the message across. The Israel lobby has such a stronghold on our members of Congress that they are afraid to go against them, but if we show that we are United to defeat them if they do not end this, then maybe….. gotta have hope.
