I foresee major for this administration. The Catholic Church is united behind the holy father. I will pray this childish behavior ends. If this administration needs help from the Catholic Church and community it will be given without any delay. I know that people are now not associated with the MAGA Party. I will pray for this administration and this country. I will pray for the Pope . My prayers continue for the people in the gulf serving our country. I will continue praying for Pope Leo and his continued leadership in the Catholic community and around the world. May his strength bring us closer to our own grace in times of crises.

Look, Chris, although this is not something that directly impacts the point of this article, there should be a better way to tell the history of the complex and tragic situation that was Operation Peter Pan without this silly idealization. The truth is that the US either started or helped spread rumors that the Cuban Revolution would "abolish parental custody" and put children under direct care by the State — which is as crazy as Cold War conspiracy theories could get —, therefore launching a massive psychological warfare operation against a Global South country that had just secured its de facto independence from the US (The Platt Amendment was a thing!), leasing thousands of families separarem. Attempting to frame it as a humanitarian effort is both insulting and insensitive.
