Cardinal Pietro Parolin signaled that Pope Leo XIV is open to a phone call with Donald Trump. Hours later, the president repeated his Iran nuclear smear without qualification. Marco Rubio walks into a harder mission than the one he left Washington with.
Well, I’m hoping that Pope Leo will speak to Rubio in Spanish and let him know that his boss is clearly insane and that Rubio should try to work with his colleagues to get him removed from power and into a psychiatric ward as soon as possible. I hope that the Pope will then pray over Rubio to give him the strength to carry out this very important duty.
That would be the chef’s kiss. I also hope that the GOP knows they can forget the Catholic vote. Their track record of cruelty with immigrants is an abomination.
No scholar me, but I feel like probably no Pope in history, or at least since nuclear weapons were invented, has lacked clarity about them. We are not talking here some arcana.
Pope Leo would never condone use of nuclear weapons. He’s a peaceable man and the Vicar of Christ. President Trump, however is liar in chief and only wants to sow seeds of destruction and despair. I will always stand with and for Pope Leo XIV. 🙏🙏🙏🤍✝️
Pope Leo has the high ground in today's meeting, but he has held it since the convocation's result. He is perfectly correct to refuse to be intimidated or otherwise bothered by this administration, considering that the awful thing in the White House and his spiritually bereft and morally compromised emissary are utterly unworthy of any decent person's notice, much less Pope Leo's.
There is a phrase TACO. Lots of posturing but Trump backs down when confronted I pray the meeting goes well but I do hope the Pontiff has a purple stole somewhere in the desk. It may be needed
I too hope that Pope Leo well stress to Marco Rubio that Trump needs to be taken out of office for the safety of the world not just the US. Stress to him that Trump needs to be hospitalized- there is something medically and mentally wrong with him he is a danger to the world.
Ironic that Trump speaks often to Putin, but so far will not take a call from the Pope. I am not surprised that Trump has never called the Pope , an American, to congratulate him. I guess it threatened Trump that he is not the leader of as many people in the world as the Pope is?

Trump is playing to Fox Catholics--Maga Catholics--offering them a choice between their faith and their political passions. Many of them, of course, are choosing those passions, fueled by fear and rage. That is their tragedy.

But some Catholics web sites condemned Biden for 4 years s if he was the devil. Some Catholic priest wanted to not serve him the holy Eucharist.,Now let’s be clear , it is a mortal sin to have an abortion, it is a mortal to use birth control. So if we want to be consistent with mortal sins in the Catholic Church no one who uses birth control ( women and men) has a right to the holy Eucharist. Now I ask how many 100 of thousands of Catholics are receiving the holy Eucharist every week having committed this mortal since of birth control.The hypocrisy is astounding. I am sick and tired of these so called Catholics sites condemning Biden . Everyone is bending the knee to Trump, knowingly committing crimes against God and the Constitution . It is so bad that according to insiders in the White House they are preparing to shred documents because they know they will loose in the midterms and people will go to jail.
