After being in the White House as Trump was compared to the risen Christ, Barron told Shapiro the pope’s Palm Sunday rebuke wasn’t about Iran — and the Pizzaballa incident was overblown.
As with Opus Dei, it is time for Pope Leo to seriously consider removing Barron and others like him from positions of authority within the church. I imagine there is important work they can do where they are monitored and not able to stand in opposition to the pope. These critical times call for this change. Too many lay people are misguided and then confused.
I agree with removing Barron. Pope France removed Cardinal Burke because he was a xourcd of disunity and was against the reforms Francis was making. Barron is flat out saying Pope Leo didn’t mean the war in Iran. Obviously Pope Leo did mean the war in Iran.
I completely agree that Bishop Barron should be removed. He has obviously chosen to be a cultural divider. I was stunned to see a Catholic Priest clapping to the nonsense Paula White.
I'll put my cards down. If there is any moment to lose interest in Bishop Barron, it's this. I don't usually comment, but whatever. Extremely disappointing.
Pizzaballa was prohibited from entering the church of the holy sepulchre. In effect, the Israeli police has taken his people, who already live in the hell that is the holy land nowadays, and consigned them to a state of mortal sin. On Palm Sunday no less.
Then, after an international outcry, which included secular world leaders such as Spanish PM Pedro Sànchez (an atheist to boot) Pizzaballa was given permission.
I hope Pope Leo is listening. These bishops, these renegades, have overstayed their welcome in a Church seeking to listen to the poor, destitute, and disenfranchised in this world.
Respectfully, ordained members like Fr. Mike Schmitz and Bishop Barron desperately need to look inward at the damage and division they are causing...both by what they say and what they don't say. The atrocities happening in their respective diocese are scandalous, yet they remain silent. However, they were both quick to get on camera in the aftermath of the Charlie Kirk murder and give hot takes and platitudes. I fear they are influencers before they are priests. They need our prayers and possibly intervention from Church leadership.
When Bishop Barron first came to prominence with his Catholicism series in 2011 I fell under his spell. For a long time in the years since I thought the education he was offering answered many questions about my faith. In the past couple of years I've learned about his relationship with folks like Peter Thiel and others in the ultra-conservative sphere and I'm disgusted. As of this moment I'm doing my best to disassociate with Word on Fire by cancelling my membership and removing all his emails. I think we're following a different Christ.
Barron seems in need of an intervention. He has unfortunately allowed himself to forget which master he serves. Certainly the last few years have seen an inexorable drift towards right wing politics and associated culture wars, to the detriment of both his spiritual health and his own vocation. He is by now utterly compromised, reduced to the level of a partisan hack, whose role is to provide absolution to a corrupt godless regime. An American equivalent to Archbishop Kirill, one wonders if he will continue on this current trajectory, one that sees him leave the Catholic Church in order to create his own MAGA church. Again, he is in serious need of an intervention for his own sake and a good period of retreat and spiritual reflection. Celebrity has not been good for him, he has been distracted by promises of worldly power.
I appreciate the establishing of a record of concern that your posts on Barron provide. I’m sure the Vatican is aware of his behaviors and positions but the general public often doesn’t see what contrary positions a bishop like Barron takes unless they are plainly laid out.
What you do here to document Barron I wish someone would do for Cordileone of San Francisco. He too serves on Trump’s Religious Liberty Commission and hasn’t been a very good supporter of Pope Francis or Pope Leo. He has consistently ignored or de-emphasized synodality. He does not speak out against anything the Trump does that clearly violates Catholic teachings.
"dangerous" is a very appropriate word here, Elena. Bishop Barron's words and deeds can and perhaps will be construed by certain people to continue to wage war and harm innocents.
We have a president, a vice president, a speaker, half of Congress, and at least five justices who blatantly and consistently lie like oversized Persian rugs every single day. We complain, yes, we do, but we know we can fix this through our votes and other political means.
But now we have an egotistical, narcissistic, and perhaps skewed bishop who gaslights and lies about the Church, our Holy Father, and the clergy with whom he disagrees. A truly despicable individual, what can his poor flock do about him? What can the rest of us do when we see, hear, and read what he says and does? What recourse do we have?

Barron needs to be booted.
Barron has really gone off the rails and giving allegiance to answer golden calf..Baal.

I'm sure he is aware of him
Matthew 5:9
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
(Jesus - Sermon on the Mount - Beatitudes - first century Palestine)
Psalm 1:1
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers.
Barron is shameful

I hope that Pope Leo is able to view Barron with Paula White and his right podcast comments.

Bishop Barron is the Cardinal Dolan clone ingratiating himself with those in power. So disappointing and dangerous.

He needs to take off that cassock and cross-- Or go back in time--how about the middle ages?
He's our Modern Day Judas Iscariot
