The Pope is making good choices for Catholic leadership in America. Stepping up the diversity of its leadership will help minister to the needs of all parishioners and strengthen Catholic communities, as well as signal that Hispanic Catholics in America are important and valued members of the Church. Well done! I am not Catholic but so far think the Pope is representing the best of Christianity as a whole.

I was skeptical of a US born pope but Leo XIV has been phenomenal in these trying times. Hopefully he'll make Americans better Catholics

I’ve found their secret manifesto!

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the clean in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Imagine if people believe this? It’s revolutionary!

I love that the Pope is following the commandment to love everyone, believe, speak and act. I pray these actions are more effective than thousands of years ago when Jesus went to Nazareth and Jerusalem but was rebuffed because the eyes were covered by scales and the ears could not hear.

A Cháirde, Friends, Amis,

I am an Irish Roman Catholic Come From Away , I have spent way more money than I can afford supporting all kinds of people on Substack who work to non violently defeat MAGISM which I consider deadly. I have supported His Holiness the Dalai Lama the great Fourteenth since 1980 because I totally agree with His overall views about compassion, democracy and science and I have prayed for years that I might see a Pope like Francis and now Pope Leo also the XIV . There are no coincidents. Blessed are the peace makers.

Thank you,

We need compassion and kindness and also firmness. Personally, I find the compassion and kindness much easier than the firmness and accountability. Thank you.

I, too, believe it is no accident.

Pope Leo's display of strength in the face of adversity gives me hope in ways I never thought possible. Thank you, God.

Pope Leo is guided by the Holy Spirit. At a time in our country when immigrants are scorned Pope Leo is making priests who were once immigrants leaders in a parish.

This is great. The MAGA Bishops like the discredited Barron are in full panic mode as Leo is teaching them the 1st commandment. Their false God is an orange, fat pedophile and their constant search for power will have their souls in peril. God Bless Pope Leo- excommunicate them all!

For some time now these countries have become a very large percentage of the American Catholic Church so it only makes sense the pope finally makes them leaders in the church - and supports them against MR T

My first thought was of Alligator Alcatraz. Might the new bishop lead processions there?

Why do you seem to demean Pope Leo’s assignments, in this article? You make it sound like Pope Leo has a corrupted heart, and is only choosing these men to harm President Trump. I believe Pope Leo is assigning the best Pastors to lead and journey, with Jesus’ sheep, and for others to see them as The Example, in how to serve as a Bishop.

I love that our Bishops are journeying with my fellow Catholic Brothers and Sisters in Christ, through this experience, because of a choice they made. My prayers are with those who have been removed, hopefully always with dignity, but there are consequences for our human choices in life, some are matters of faith life, and others of society life, each with possible punishment to God or to nation.

Were these Bishops and Pastors, The Example of encouraging and journeying with these same Catholics during President Biden’s open border policy? Did the call them to fully join our community, both spiritually in their local parish and socially by seeking to become Citizen or gaining temporary status. This would have been the safer and more dignified journey for all, for Catholics.
