On 60 Minutes, Ross Douthat asked the Democrat why his Muslim faith stuck. His answers on God, Israel, and Michigan’s Jewish voters frame what is at stake on Election Day.
Wishing him good luck. Hoping everyone sees that people of faith have no choice but to back him. These Republicans have to go. We can work with men and women of real faith, whatever their faith, even if it's not in God. All human beings. All different. But hypocrites, blasphemers, predators, bullies, liars, and conmen- we should not have at the helm. Period.
Carmen Zayas-Absolutely yes to every word you write. All bigotry is wrong and even Jesus Himself stood against hatred of the “other” whomever was named such at any given time.We are each of us “the other” in someone’s mind. Some people just have a driving need to hate someone, anyone, on any given day. I agree with Pope Leo that a person’s truth comes out in the fire of all the slurs and questions thrown at him by the haters. Mr.El Sayed has answered every question and every charge the bigots have brought against him.People who have listened to him speak and answer the people’s questions see for themselves Mr.El Sayed has honor and is a good man who truly wants regular people to have a chance at living better lives and he is willing to work to help implement programs to help his people in Michigan. We sorely need folks of goodwill in government these days, where there are sooo few. Mr.El Sayed is such a good man. I hope the bigots and haters against a good man lose their fight.
Mr.El Sayed is a good man and he is the right man for this moment and for this job of representing and working for the people of Michigan.
Thank you for the newsletter, Chris . Abdul El SAyed is a true man of faith. He loves this country and has been hurt, by someone, but he carries on in a noble spirit that has most likely been there since he was born. He is a doctor who tended to the children, brought them glasses to read with. I will pray for him and Pope Leo , for his recovery ❤️🩹. I will pray for everyone on their way to vote as I do. I saw Senator Elizabeth Warren speak truthfully to people who were at a Michigan rally. It’s not easy to be living in America without the lord’s help. This nation is one of peace not of war. I pray for hope for everyone in America no matter what happens. Lord bring us peace tomorrow.
