The turn from Trump has many causes but you have highlighted a number of the important ones: the policies ripping families apart; the blithe turning away from providing access to food and shelter and medical care to the disadvantaged while bragging about how fantastic the economy is performing for those of sufficient means and more; the demonization of the stranger seeking refuge and the exaltation of war, destroying fishing boats outside US waters among other acts that are in no way pro-life or in accord with the Gospels.
Pray for her. My mom is the same way- she is a one issue voter- pro life- but she selects which lives are worthy of dignity and respect. It’s heartbreaking. Though, I do believe that Leo is breaking through to her heart. Just not as quickly as I’d like.
For those who remained within the MAGA group, I would like to understand why. After Pope Leo was very clear about policies and that pro-life is more than anti-abortion, how did you reconcile your decision.
I’m not a Catholic but I’m a follower of Pope Leo because he speaks the words of Jesus so clearly and simply.

Only a one point margin? Those are depressing numbers for a wave election like this.
That's a lot of Catholics who support ICE handling of immigrants, the death penalty, and war.
One cannot support such cruelty,destruction and death and think you are remotely following Christ.
How can those Catholics claim to be pro life? I never understood that

I think this is because the next-door neighbor was ICE and made her afraid of immigrants. Despite being the daughter of immigrants.
