Thank you. I’ve been freeloading for months now, reading your insightful and inspiring letters. About time I started to pay a little back. To an outsider, what’s

… happening in Catholicism today seems miraculous, and I remember pre-Vatican II Catholic/Protestant dynamics. You are a wonderful witness.

Christopher —

Your writings and actions have truly inspired me and resonated in my heart and soul. You give me hope not only for my country, but for my religion and faith.

Times are difficult. It’s easy to be overwhelmed by the hate, greed and cruelty of so many being played out everyday in our lives.

But my touchstone continues to be the words of the Apostle Paul:

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

Blessing upon you in this important work.

"God has out done himself with this community."

It will remember and use this forever.

It only took 7 words! I find that true most often.

If i had more money I'd send it because both you and Pope Leo have arrived at a time in our nation's history - and the world's history - when you are both desperately needed. Thank you for all you do.

This is an amazing substack, and I read everything you write. Thank you for following the pull of your soul, and giving that gift to us all.

I feel like Pope Leo is showing how much the Church has changed since Vatican II, especially given the recent SSPX schism. In my head, I'm comparing the 4 popes I grew up with to the 4 cardinal virtues. JP2 brought justice, Benedict brought prudence, Francis had fortitude, and Pope Leo is bringing temperance to the table. Balance of tradition and progress.

Prayer for America:

Lord, have mercy on us.

Lord, we are praying for knowledge, wisdom, common sense, a spirit of good heartedness, a spirit of lawfulness, and a spirit of truthfulness, for all our people, for all our leaders, and for all our representatives.

Lord, have mercy on us.

Protect us from all harm. Show us what to do to get ourselves out of the difficult situations we have created for ourselves.

Lord, have mercy on us.

Lord, we are praying for an end to all the violence, hatred, ignorance, lies, racism, and bigotry that permeate our country and our world.

Lord, have mercy on us.

Lord, we are praying for all the repentance, healing, forgiveness, pardon, and reconciliation we need to get ourselves on the right track.

Lord, have mercy on us.

Thank you for this sharing. We are blessed by your hope. Writing personal reflections is a long tradition in the church. With writingpartnersforamerica.com I invite everyone to pick up pen and paper and answer questions about what are the values we want to live here?

Congratulations Christopher on 1 year that has been very inspiring for me and many others I’m sure! I’m in and from Chicago and we are so happy to have an American Pope! And just when we need him most. Thank you for all you do.

Thank you for having started this community, for bringing us back to what really matters, for chronicling the profound blessings Pope Leo is bringing to the world just as Pope Francis did, blessings that you faithfully chronicle and which have inspired many of us "lapsed Catholics" to return to the Church ⛪️ ❤️🙏🏼

Our American Pope has been renewing my faith, there are still people who believe freedom and faith are not mutually exclusive. Hope without cynicism, that's why we are here. And as you said to rid this country of authoritarianism! Thank you!
