For American readers — of whom I am one — many of us would appreciate seeing Opus Dei connections with Roberts/the Heritage Foundation and Project 2025 spelled out very clearly.

Amorphous allusions are hardly helpful.

It's in the book. Ever wonder how appointments are made to high political positions? Take a look. I watch the news, look at the index of the book and roll my eyes.

I remember OD helping to bring about a lot of famous conversions in DC.

Gore's book is a "must read" if you are interested in the intersection of dark politics and religion. Many of our current political characters are mentioned.

Fascinating story

Who twisted what JoseaMaria Escrivava had developed Opus Dei to be? He did not create a sick organization and should be canonized.

If you read Opus, Escrivá was after wealth, power and influence from the beginning. It was a sort of preferential option for wealthy Catholics.

Yes, 100%. Opus Dei was rotten (and fascist) from the start.

I didn’t read Opus. But I did read The Way by JoseaMaria Escriva which is 999 points for prayer and meditation. I have read that he aligned with the leader of Spain who was a fascist.
