Another step toward LGBT inclusion: the last cardinal Pope Francis ever made put his name on an Italian book, translated by Outreach this week. A year of Leo XIV’s choices says this was no accident.
Thank you Christopher for this post. This is the Jesus Christ I have come to know. And Cardinal Battaglio certainly understands his true teachings on Justice and Mercy.
Steps in the direction of healing--baby steps, but there is movement. There has been too much pain inflicted in judgement that does not reflect the gospel. It is time. So grateful.
All of this proclaims Pope Leo’s style. No big pronouncements, no obvious rocking the boat. Just the quiet opening of doors too long shut in the faces of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
I’ll be the Ezekiel to truth as per the first reading today.
This Cardinal isn’t showing mercy. He’s misguiding to he’s own peril & to those who approve and exempt any perceived outreach that Martin promotes.
Nothing in recent times that uses the word “accompaniment” is from God. It only prolongs & sustains souls in sin, while transmitting slow doses of poisonous acceptance.
I have loved Pope Francis and Pope Leo (from Chicago!!!) from the beginning of Francis' pontificate. I subscribe to your substack and look forward to your posts. That said, not all Catholics are welcoming; where I live, the Church is very conservative and I don't know where to find the community I sense in your posts. What advice do you have for someone who has yet to recover from growing up in the Church of the 1950's?

Thank you for the newsletter, Chris. Transgender people are really getting hurt mentally and physically, out there.

How wonderful!!!
How wonderful. I hope it will translated into English, as my Italian is rudimentary.
Lots of Feminised responses here.

The fact that you use “feminized” as a slur here tells me all I need to know about your views.
