⚖️ The Lantern's Light on History's Warning
In Kovno in nineteen-forty-one, a tragedy took place,
When armed citizens forgot the guardrails of our race.
They stood and clapped while innocent men perished in the yard,
Because the people dropped their watch and ceased to be the guard. 🛑
Today we see the shadows fall across the global sphere,
As Putin strikes Ukraine and fills civilian hearts with fear.
And Netanyahu's forces leave a trail of grief and pain,
Where innocent civilians fall in Gaza's dark domain. 🌍
And on our very soil today, the warning signs are clear,
With abuses in the ICE facilities that happen near.
They abuse our legal neighbors right before our open eyes,
While a bloated military budget takes us by surprise. 🪖
They cut USAID relief, a cruel and sudden blow,
That leaves three hundred thousand children dying in their woe.
And while the global family suffers from this bitter choice,
Our American farmers' livelihoods are stripped of any voice. 🌾
Now proposals rise to sell our precious American soil,
To China and Saudi Arabia, the fruits of honest toil.
While the leaders in the Congress simply stand around and stare,
Abandoning the sacred trust and showing they don't care. 🗺️
For history repeats itself when citizens let go,
Of democratic guardrails that keep out the tyrant's blow.
When cruelty is normalized and facts are cast aside,
That is the exact moment where the darkest forces hide. ⏳
So we must share the facts each day and spread the word around,
To keep our republic safe and keep our freedom sound.
With November's critical elections coming into view,
The guardianship of liberty depends on me and you. 🗳️
So open up your eyes, my friends, and shine the lantern bright,
We cannot stand in silence while they dim the nation's light.
Democracy requires us to stand up for what is true,
To protect equal justice for the many, not the few. 🗽
